Understanding the NIFT Entrance Exam
The NIFT entrance exam tests not only your creativity and aesthetics, but also your analytical skills, business sense, and fashion awareness.
For B.Des:
- CAT (Creative Ability Test) – Tests your design, drawing, and visual skills.
- GAT (General Ability Test) – Tests your quantitative, analytical, English, and general knowledge.
- Situation Test – Shortlisted candidates are given a model-making task and are evaluated on material handling and innovation.
For B.FTech:
Only GAT is required.
What is the Eligibility Criteria?
For B.Des & B.FTech:
- Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 from any stream.
- Age Limit: Maximum 24 years as of August 1 of the admission year (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwD).
For M.Des, M.F.M, M.FTech:
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline.
- No age limit for master’s programs.
